Our Story
Victoria Sanders, the founder of Royalty For A Day, is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of young girls and women.
Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Michigan and has been professionally working as a nurse for over eight years. Her focal point within the medical field is women’s health which goes hand in hand with her passion for empowering and educating women.
Having to overcome a range of abuse throughout her personal life, Victoria dedicated her professional life to helping others overcome their pain and adversities. She’d known since her early 20’s that a part of her life’s purpose was to help women like herself, but she didn’t quite know how or where to start.
In 2016, she founded Royalty For A Day, a non-profit organization that aims to educate and encourage women who have faced or are facing, domestic violence and other forms of abuse. The organization
works in collaboration with local shelters, licensed therapists, and other community organizations to provide these women with a safe space to share their stories and begin the journey to find their freedom.
When asked about what initially prompted the idea for Royalty For A Day, Victoria stated, “I wanted my daughter, first and foremost, to know her worth, to know how to use her voice and have a community of women around her to support and pick her up when she falls. I wanted a space for women to have the support and recognize the royalty within them. I believe having this as a community will help young ladies and women become empowered against abuse.”
Victoria cites influential women like Michelle Obama, Sarah Jakes-Roberts, and Jada Pinkett-Smith as her ideal role models as she navigates through her own inspiring path. She currently resides in the Dallas- Fort Worth area in Texas with her family and continues to pursue life with passion and purpose on the
daily. “I'm grateful for life. After everything I’ve been through, just being alive is an achievement. Winning against adversity is an achievement. If I can do it, anybody can.”
